Every line should answer a selection question
A CV is not a complete life story. It helps a selector answer quickly: does the applicant meet the requirements, is there evidence of motivation and reliability, and is the timeline clear? Use reverse chronological order, unambiguous dates and concrete tasks for placements or projects rather than naming the organisation alone.
A lack of paid experience is normal in an entry application. School projects, caring responsibilities, community activity, part-time work, languages and self-directed projects may all be relevant when the scale and contribution are described honestly. Expectations about photographs and personal details differ by market and such information is not universally required.
Turn a weak claim into evidence
Weak: “Organised team player.” Better: “Planned a school event with eight volunteers; created the rota and coordinated setup by 9am.” Use an action, context, scale and result without inflating your responsibility.
