A hackathon idea became a real app.

Today Apprentice Atlas combines official apprenticeships, map discovery, clear GPT-5.6 explanations, favourites, application tracking and interview preparation in a bilingual iPhone app. We are now turning it into a sustainable platform for schools, advisers and young people.

Build Week

The first version made location-based apprenticeship discovery and clear AI support tangible.

The app connects discovery, plain-language guidance, AI questions, favourites and application planning in one complete mobile journey.

Next stage

With schools and advisers, we are testing how Apprentice Atlas can best strengthen existing careers guidance.

What the hackathon established

The prototype showed that map discovery, official apprenticeship data and AI support can form a clear mobile journey. It grew into a working TestFlight app with discovery, favourites, application tracking and vacancy-specific preparation.

Preparing for use with schools

For use with schools and advisers, content, forms, privacy, accessibility and infrastructure are reviewed together. Initial pilots will then provide the experience needed to improve the product, support and operation.

• Staging, migration, smoke test and rollback.
